Bookmarked
Where the ink is lighter.
I wept on those words,
There...I evolved as a writer.
Those who flipped the pages,
Left fingerprints in there.
Those who read between lines,
Showed their care.
I danced on the cacophony,
Thinking it might ease off the pain.
I smiled, when they mistook,
My tears as rain.
But each one told me a truth,
A truth that I bookmark.
Always look into the light,
When the life is dark.
I wept on those words,
ReplyDeleteThere.. I knew she is a wonderful writer!
Those words just touched my heart,
Left strong footprints of her thought!
I smile, when I read her happy words;
I shed tears, when reading her touching words!
But each time I came here, I realized a Truth
A Truth that I would love to share.
"I love whatever you write Saru"

Deletethis is a really wonderful piece of poetry. I love the imagery in these lines:
ReplyDeleteThose who flipped the pages,
Left finger prints in there.

My tears as rain.
Melancholy is oozing out of the poem which makes it very charming to me and i really loved how you have given a different sort of twist to the whole process of bookmarking.
Nimish, most of the readers liked those lines. Somehow, I feel melancholy refines the art of writing. Thanks for reading and for your lovely comment.

Delete"Why I started writing and what it means" was exactly the theme of my second last poem! I think at some point we all realize how this whole blogging thing is becoming important!
ReplyDeleteJust an excerpt...
" I may be hurt but not for once I resent
Just that I am a mere human
With a need to occasionally vent
And so I turned to writing and it feels cathartic and divine
Knowing what's lost was actually never mine"
Nice post Saru...could totally relate to it!

ReplyDeletethis was one hell of a prose.
*hats off*
IMHO, a writer writes best when writing about her art, her writing and herself as a writer, the culmination of her artistic aspiration.
http://notesbymohit.wordpress.com/2011/11/09/i-write/
Thanks Mohit, I think when you write about your art, there is a lot of honesty that makes the post beautiful.
