White Stallions of My Dreams...
Ever cascading...Ever lasting,
River of desire hopelessly streams.
Galloping in day and night,
The white stallions of my dreams...
Skin deep abyss,
Hushes the surface needs.
Silently caressing on my bed tonight,
The white stallions of my dreams...
For many autumns and many springs,
Lived in the labyrinth it seems.
Walked sideways on alleys with me,
The white stallions of my dreams...
Bring me my freedom,
Rub the zest on all extremes.
Mounting high, I shall ride,
The white stallions of my dreams...
Ever cascading...Ever lasting,
River of desire shall now stream.
Riding high through all terrain,
Beautiful! Simply pure as the purity of white...the white stallion of your dreams has me dreamy eyed now :-)

DeleteHow brilliant of a metaphor is the white stallion for happy and postive dreams. And I envy the girl with the seren peaceful look on her face in that pic. No wonder, with such blinding rays of postive energy kind of dreams, one is bound to feel so gay and glowing like her.

ReplyDeleteNo, I am not, ask Vinay. I am struggling to write a poem for IBL. Anyways, thanks for reading and a beautiful comment:)
DeleteNice one. Is white stallion supposed to be a nemesis to nightmare?
ReplyDeleteSorry, I didn't get you. If you said white stallions being the panacea for nightmares, then you are right. Else, please clarify. And thanks for reading:)
DeleteSee white stallion in association with dreams sounded like opposite of nightmare to me. White x Night. Stallion x Mare. So I wondered if you has that symbolism in mind.
DeleteNah, I don't think that deeply. As a team mate, you know by now that I am more on the simpler side of writing. BTW, you have a great imagination. That is one good logic.:)

ReplyDeleteAnd your poem got published in the book? Congrats yaar. Is this the book you were talking about?
They got published in Rousing Cadence. Thanks for reading and liking the poem Binu.:)
DeleteThat is some high quality poetry, Saru..:) Frankly speaking I generally read your poems more than once and slowly to understand it, becuase of the writing quality. If anyone wants to learn how to go about writing poetry, yours would be one to look forward to..:) Short and Beautiful..:)
ReplyDeleteAnd loved the pic, it kind of has a positive effect and brings a smile...:) A Perfect pic.
ReplyDeletePrashanth, I am working towards making my poem little longer. It looks so small on a book page. And thanks for a beautiful and motivating comment.
Delete*Humbled*
lovely pic and the poem .. as pure as the color white...
ReplyDeleteThanks Rahul!
DeleteCongrats Saru on getting published :) !
ReplyDeleteI could not interpret the poem yet I loved the way your poem flows with rhyming and repetitive pattern .Maybe I should follow you more closely from now on to read you mind ;)
I think I couldn't connect with you, Sorry for that. And thanks for liking the rhyming part of the poem.:)
DeleteI had to read the poem twice.
ReplyDeleteIt didn't really caught my attention while skimming over like your other poems containing strong words, usually love poems or socially sensitive.
But then i decided to take a closer, diligent, second look. And the poem is marvellous :) marvellous in that it doesn't need to take the most basic of human emotions (love/hatred/pain) or the most flagrant of social injustice to turn into a good poem. it takes the less identifiable (but much more nuanced, and real)emotions, and by the sheer power of words, turn it into something really good.
i guess that's what it means to be a good poet, doesn't it? ;)
keep writing saru,
mohit
That's an encouraging comment Mohit. Actually the inspiration behind this poem is a ceramic white horse in which I store pins etc., I used to look at it and many a dreams the phrase, 'white stallions of my dreams' used to pop up in my mind. Hence the poem. Glad to liked it.
DeleteOn being a good poet, I don't even call myself a poet. I write free verses and my only wish is to express and leave an imprint in the minds of readers...
Thanks for a beautiful comment,
Saru :)
"white stallions of my dreams" - this is just so magical !!! Wow !!!
