Je t'aime
I posted these poems as a series last year. It was written as a story of a lady who was waiting for her beloved. He wrote a letter saying that he would come in July and meet her in the garden where they met last time. Read how the story unfolds in each poem. Please share which one of these poems you liked the most.
In this Garden,
Was drifted away with ecstasy, rubbed and erased all fears,
For my numb soul, this is a hard phase.
Convicted of falling in love, I have to bear this pain.
Voice, I heard his voice,
*Je t’aime means ‘I Love You’ in French.
All of them are very good! So it was well worth the wait till August , Saru:)
ReplyDeleteYes, it was for the lady in distress. :)
DeleteVery good, but the first one is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteGood, thanks for reading :)
DeleteBeautiful! I liked all of them:) loved these lines"
ReplyDeleteConvicted of falling in love, I have to bear this pain.
Consoling my pounding heart, its pleading will not go in vain."
Even I love these lines, thanks for reading Mithlash :)
DeleteFantastic...very well writeen and knitted together. I love all three and the style. Cheers
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Sam :)
DeleteLove them all!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sir :)
DeleteAw! Such a beautiful experience reading them all together! Simply loved it, Saru :):) Out of the three if you ask, the 2nd one is awesome! :)
ReplyDeleteMine too...Thanks for reading Harsha :)
Deletebeautiful beautiful....all of them....
ReplyDeletebut last one is the BEST one...for obvious reasons :-)
i always love happy endings....
love
anu
Good to know that Anu. :) Thanks for reading:)
DeleteAhh Saru, thank god for the happy ending :-) Midway through the second poem, amongst her desperation, I almost thought, god this is not going correct. One more man makes his love wait for years. But he came, and he proposed, wow!
ReplyDeleteI liked the third poem the best. And those lines, where she doesn't open her eyes, fearing she would be disspointed again, was so beautifully painful. How much she loved him, but still somewhere she stopped believing.
The second poem :'Though deep within I think, Is my love so blind?', single line to show how she questions her love. Perfect Saru!!
When I was writing this, I wanted to have a happy ending. And you are right about the line you mentioned, at times we question our own beliefs.
DeleteGood to know that you liked third one. Thanks for reading and for your wonderful comment Jenny. Always a pleasure to hear from you :)
Beautiful, as ever. You spin the love and longing between two soulmates in an a very lucid yet very appealing fashion. My heart leapt out for the 'Lady' of the poem.
ReplyDeleteThough I liked all of them, yet the third one is my favourite :-)

That is one lovely comment, at times, I feel that comments are more beautiful than the poem. :)

DeleteMy self is lost!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved this one!

DeleteAmazing.I started reading the poem with mixed emotions thinking what will happen at the end, whether her wait will ever get over. But I was happy seeing and feeling their happiness when they met.I felt as if I am waiting for my lover and I met him :).The way you have ended the poem has brought a smile on my face :).
ReplyDeleteAwesome and soulful ..
When I was writing it, I was thinking how would I feel if I am at her place. Obviously we all want happy endings and good to know that you liked it.
DeleteThanks for gracing this blog with your presence Rekha :)
Really awesome, beautiful poems where they leave a message, 'don't leave hope' :)
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that she met with her love,
otherwise her heart would be broken left. :(
I loved the last one, as when i read the last para it brought me cheers & made me happy that she finally got her love :)
Beauuuuuuutiful! :)
Thanks Gayatri, happy endings are so soothing and are required. Good to know that you liked the last one.
DeleteStunning ones, especially the first one. Brings out the pain of longing for love and waiting for loved one. Glad she finally succeeded:)

Deleteloved the last one!!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
Deletefantastic...loved the happy ending
ReplyDeleteThanks Gunjan. :)
DeleteAhh Saru.. when I read the title, I was wondering if you had written a poem in French. With your wizardry with words I wouldn’t be surprised. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have always been mesmerized by your words and how sweetly they rhyme and chime together. But then the ease with which your poems unfolded into a beautiful love story is just blissful. All three poems were brilliant and played their parts beautifully in bringing a love story to life. The first one was gentle as a breeze and the reader just looses himself in the serenity. The second one instills a deep pain and an anxiety that grows on you. And then you end it beautifully with love and hope and magic of oneness.
J'aime ces poèmes beaucoup! :)
Glad you noticed the meaning and depth of each poem and yet again your comment is more beautiful than the poem. I wish you would have picked up one:)
DeleteI want to learn french but every time I try, I end up closing the book.
Merci beaucoup pour un commentaire agréable.
all of them were good, the rhyme n rythm of the 1st n 3rd alike.. i liked very 1st one.. d feeling of longing is very well expressed :)

ReplyDeleteSomeone is Special

ReplyDeleteWell, the first poem is just absolutely beautiful written, I love it.
Hope you have good days! Hugs from north
WOW, how was the trip? First is the most popular poem I guess. Thanks for reading Tania :)
DeleteXOXOXO
I loved all 3, very beautiful, each poem conveys a different kind of emotion which is very touching. And the way you have written by using very simplistic and uncomplicated words, makes the poems even more endearing. The story unfolds beautifully with each poem. My favorite poem would have to be the second one. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved these lines:
"Convicted of falling in love, I have to bear this pain.
Consoling my pounding heart, its pleading will not go in vain."
I knew you would love the second one. Even I like it out of three. And I loved the way you wrote the second line of your comment. Thanks for a beautiful comment Akshay:)
DeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteThis was a new one, the collection of three poems, each expressing a different emotion of a journey, a waiting. Very refreshing, loved reading it, the effortless seguing from one emotion to another with each poem was high-quality. You are a class poet :)
Lyrical beauty-wise, all three poems are very close. I liked the first one best, as the emotion it expressed, anticipation, is much more elusive than the concrete emotions of doubt, and happiness, in second and third poems, respectively.
Also, "Is maintaining this relation by any means wise?
Should I wait for him? He needs more time;" this line looks a bit prose-like to fit properly in the second poem, just saying.
Brilliant collection, keep writing :)
also, a comment above reminded me. reading a happy ending was a breath of fresh air!
ReplyDeleteAll love poems i've been reading on blogs are so dark and depressing, i myself am a depressed, forlorn poet :D. Thanks a lot for the happy ending :)
You are right about prose fitting into poetry, actually I am free verse poet and I experiment. My only aim is to make poem very readable for the masses. I certainly can't write as classy as you Mohit. Thanks a lot for reading.
DeleteAbout writing a happy ending, when I was new people said I write a lot of sad poems, I just wanted to break that image. In fact I love writing sad poems, emotions are easy to portray, for happy ones finding phrases is very difficult.
beautiful story poem
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteAll of them were beautiful. Of the three, I loved the first one, because of the eagerness and curiosity. That eagerness and curiosity to meet your loved is an amazing feeling even though it might be little painful at times...:)
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree, there is a different kind of high in it. Thanks for reading Prashanth.
DeleteSuch a beautiful read!! All three in fact. Perfect continuity and beautiful emotions. The simplicity is what stands out in your words.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kunal.:)
DeleteAlthough I've had a full year's training in french, the only phrase I remember is Je táime.. :D
ReplyDeleteWonderful poems Saru.. I cannot compare the 3 poems, but if you are forcing me to, I'd say the last one is the best..
As they say, all's well that ends well :)
Even my husband says so, he had French during his MBA. :)
DeleteYeah, we all love happy endings. :) Thanks for reading.
So, I read this again! And, bookmarked it this time! :)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet of you :)
Deletei liked all three of them... very nice writing... the last line is awesome which marked the happy ending... a soulful poem for a soulmate...
ReplyDeleteThank you Ashish. :)
Deletejust loveddddddd it, glad you gave it a happy ending ,.... I was literally about to cry ... the paroxysm which she goes through without her lover is brilliantly expressed - at the end it was beautiful & lovely read :) :)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot, we all cherish happy endings:)
Deletei love them all Saru..
ReplyDeletethe best part being the happy ending., in the 2nd part i thought it would end badly and he would make her wait for years and would never return, But he comes.. :D
I like it whene she doesn't open her eyes in fear.. its like, she is soo much in love but still somewhere inside is filled with fear that is stopping her from believeing and hoping..
my fav lines,
"Convicted of falling in love, I have to bear this pain.
Consoling my pounding heart, its pleading will not go in vain."
every poem gives a different feeling, and the way it all unfolds is beautiful.. i sooo love the way you write..
I'm really happy to read your comment as I could feel you read with the same emotions with which I penned this series. Thanks for making my day. Second one is my favorite and the lines you picked are few of those lines which I love...:)
DeleteThank you so much for making my day. It feels great to have a reader like you, you inspire and motivate me to write better...:)

DeleteI agree, not all love stories have a happy ending but we can start writing a new one. After all we all have but one life and there should be love in it...
DeleteBeautiful poems.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rajesh!
DeleteEven I love the second poem. Thanks for reading and your lovely comment!
ReplyDeleteAh..all three are simply splendid! Just can't pick one as best since they don't compete..in fact they're complimentary to one another! But the second one lingers longer in my heart because pain and ache are very romantic(i.e. in romance:))
ReplyDeleteSecond one is my favorite too...Thanks for reading and for such a beautiful comment Sir.:)
DeleteI love the happy ending.. thank you for that. Now to choose from them it tough but somehow I loved the second one a bit more than the two.. just a tiny bit.
