Being Woman
Rush of life,
Without a pause in a day.
Maddening crowd calls,
My name in dark alleys.
I run fast, I don't stop,
They chase me in neon lights.
High heeled shoes, pastel dress,
Life is a constant fight.
Let me go far away,
No rules, No truth either.
Tossing the tides away,
I wanna surf, I need a breather.
Judge me not,
I'm a mom, I'm a daughter.
I'm the woman of today,
I walk on troubled waters.
For what I do to pace up,
Drop few drops of bliss.
Better still...
a touch, a hug or a kiss.
Nice one once again :)
ReplyDeleteWell, although I believe being women or being men, it is tough either way in the current age!
Yeah, it's really tough to keep pace these days...Thanks for reading Sumit!
DeleteI waited long for few drops of bliss, but I guess we all have to find our way eventually. At the end of the day, we all are alone. But what a poem, the metaphor -- drops of bliss is splendid!
ReplyDeleteWe are alone and we should be alone at times to introspect. We have to accept some truths which are often laid under the wraps of hope. Glad you liked the metaphor. Thanks for reading Jenny!
DeleteVery well expressed Saru Ji. Today's world is so fast paced,so mechanical, you are always running from pillar to post chasing your dreams or fulfilling your responsibilities & commitments - there is no time to relax, hold hands, hug or kiss ! Its a mad mad mad world :) Happy Pongal & Sankaranti.
ReplyDeleteIt's a mad, mad world and we have to make constant efforts to appreciate when the ladies in our lives are doing for us. A hug or a kiss would go a long way.
DeleteHappy Pongal and Sankarati to you and your family Sir. :)

ReplyDeleteGlad to know that. Thanks for reading Puji :)
DeleteHi Saru,
ReplyDeleteAnother good post coming from you. :)
Point well made. I think everyone has a right to live and lead life just as a normal individual should lead. There should not be a feeling of Us vs. Them between the 2 genders.
We are over complicating simple issues and blowing them out of proportion, all because of that all-destroying ego, which eats everything like a termite.

Jay

Jay, honestly there are not many males out there who appreciate what their mother/sister/wife does. They take them for granted. I agree we over-hype this topic but all this for some acknowledgment. :)
DeleteThanks for reading and it's always good to read your views :)
Indeed, Saru, there aren't too many but sometimes out-of-the-blue one does find some gems of personality. I guess it's got more to do with upbringing and once the child grows up, the social circle and peer group the child lives in.
DeleteI agree...:)
