When I Met Sonam Kapoor
Let me confess, my fashion sense is almost zero. Only luring thing about shopping is the 50% sale posters outside the store. Yesterday I went to mall with my husband. It was hot and humid. Walking from parking to the entrance and that endless stroll from store to store left me exhausted. I dazed off the very moment my husband started driving back home. The cool breeze from air conditioner acted as a lullaby and I was transported to the dreamland where I met the Fashion Icon of our generation.
I was dreaming of buying a white dress for summer...but wait, cut two, I found myself sitting in front of my laptop with Sonam Kapoor. The moment I spotted her on my couch, I straightened my back and pretended to be busy. 'Hey, what are you doing?' she asked to strike a conversation with busy me. I know, I know, acting smart with her was quite dumb. ‘Nothing much, just checking out my friend's photos on Facebook. She went to a trip recently. Isn't she looking gorgeous? I wonder where she finds such beautiful clothes,’ I said. Trust me, the enthusiasm of mentioning friend faded the moment I mentioned her clothes.
'You want to know where I get my wardrobe from, you wanna know where I shop? she asked and I could sense a hint of mischief in her voice. Sonam Kapoor is revealing her fashion secrets to me, I couldn't believe my luck. 'Just pass on that laptop to me,' she demanded. Images of super models wearing Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra and Ritu Kumar were flashing in my mind as she typed few words on the laptop but I was shocked at what followed next. She logged in to her BaggOut account and pointed at the screen. 'Here!' and she smiled.
'You mean you shop online?' Seriously, I was a little confused and she sensed the questions brewing in my mind. 'Of course, I shop on BaggOut.com. Who has the time to go out and you know the paprazzi, right?’ she said. I nodded gently. 'Ok, right now I am creating a wardrobe for the promotion of my upcoming movie Khoobsurat. Wanna know what I will be wearing?' and she winked. Shopping with Sonam, boy, I was all charged up!
‘Look here, I wanna buy few dresses and a saree,’ she knew what she wanted. And I noted my first fashion tip. 'I like this saree and this dress,' she said. I sensed that she had some image in her mind and she explained, ’The golden bracelet with go with ‘Love from India golden dress’ and hey, there is Rs 290 cash back on it. Dad will be really happy with me for saving money,' and she smiled. Continuing her shopping with unmatched wit and charm, she said, ‘I think with this Gud Look red dress, I will take black E02 clutch, what say?' Sonam was asking my opinion, I must confess, I was all thrilled. As she was speaking, I jotted my second tip - mix and match; not only clothes but accessories too.
‘Ok Saru, let’s see what’s trending these days,’ and she clicked on the trending tab. 'I will buy these Benetton Shoes for Rhea and finally let's explore some ongoing deals.' With that I noted tip number 3 - Looking for deals is not bad, even celebrities do that. 'Now, this is the best part of Baggout, I need not log on to different websites and check their deals. You will find every deal in one click', she said it with super excitement. She bought a bouquet for her friend's birthday, booked her flight tickets, made her hotel reservation and believe me, she got instant cash back on all her purchases. Unbelievable! And there's my husband who scans his credit card statement for cash back. Tip number 4 and the most important one (marked with an asterisk) shop on BaggOut for instant cash back.
She wrapped up her shopping with 3 dresses, 1 saree, a pair of shoes for her sister, 2 bags, couple of bracelets and earrings. Not only that, she made all traveling and hotel arrangements for her weekend getaway with her girlfriends AND saved a lot of money. Now I agree to the quote that shopping is an art. It is, indeed.
With a satisfied smile on her face, Sonam said, 'Now you know where I shop. For your next trip, shop online on Baggout and you know how easy it is. Just Join for free, click where you want to shop - Flipkart, Jabong, Amazon, Yatra and shop. Your cash back will be credited to your Baggout account and you don't need to worry.' But before I could ask my Shopping Guru any more questions, I was woken up the screeching sound of brakes.
'Wake up, Saru! We are home,' my husband said. I was a little annoyed at him from waking up from the best slumber I had till date. 'You know nothing', I said. 'What do you mean nothing?, he quizzed. 'Let me give you some gyan - Change the way you shop to get great deals and instant cash back and please, change your car's brake pads.' 'Instant cash back, how? he asked and I showed him Baggout website on his iPhone.
