SONshine Moments
Walk slowly,
Don't make noise.
Don't make noise.
No, he is not clever,
But he might recognize your voice.
Listen, he is giggling,
Placing his hands on his mouth.
Let me drown in the music of his laughter,
You pretend to seek him and shout.
Oh, I wish!
I could put this moment in a jar.
Store it in the top shelf of my closet,
Open it when he will be far.
His tight hugs and kisses,
I will crave for.
Will rub my hands on his tiny t-shirt,
He once wore.
Don't rush, you silly,
I will crave for.
Will rub my hands on his tiny t-shirt,
He once wore.
Don't rush, you silly,
These days won't last long.
Behind that curtain your son is hiding,
You just play along.

Me too, same emotions. Wish can put many many moments in a jar.
DeleteI knew about Facebook thing, Alok said the same thing to me few weeks back. He said - Post by Words, there should be a limit for brevity.
All of us forget the rarity of such moments in the mundanity of our lives. Too late becomes forever gone!

Deletewhen i read the last para, i just recalled a beautiful poem written by a terminally ill young girl which had been put on the net by her doctor. it was then printed in HT. the poem was titled 'Slow Dance'

ReplyDeleteYeah, time flies. Thanks for reading, Shivani.
DeleteA beautiful reminder of the relation and emotions that is shared between a mother and a son. It is sad how some people forget about that when they grow up.
ReplyDeleteLovely writing :)
I think a child can forget but a mother can't. She is programmed that way.
DeleteHow sweet Saru...... so purely written.... Loved it..... :)
ReplyDeleteAh I wish many moms think your way "Don't rush, you silly, These days won't last long." I feel utterly disgusted and off course sad to see this generation parents are doing anything to trigger the growth of their kids... they are too impatient to enjoy the natural growth curve and too robotic to off-ride from the competitive highway :(
ReplyDeleteYeah, people need to go back to the pure joys of life - playing games, going for picnics and spending some quality time. Thanks for reading and sharing your views.
DeleteAnd how would you kill that devil 'competitiveness' in the minds of this generation parents which is either apparent or in pseudo form, but affecting their children... Sigh...
DeleteI know, one of the serious problems of this generation's parenting - killing the childhood and innocence.
DeleteStay blessed! All the best saru:)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, can't find the relation Sir? But thanks for reading.
DeleteNice poem. Great pic to go along with it.
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful picture.
DeleteBeautiful simple & true to life lines...

ReplyDeleteThank you, Beloo.
DeleteHow do you do it? Capture emotions that echo with most of us? I can so relate to this. Mine is an adult now Saru. I won't say I wish he was a toddler because watching him as a young man is great too. But yeah, no more hugs and giggles.
ReplyDeleteYour comment reminds me of your post where you wrote about your son's room. A comment like this from you makes my day. Thanks Alka!
DeleteSaru, I read this poem in FB and loved it ! You have captured the emotions so well :)
