Happiness is a State of Mind
It rained a lot when I wanted sunshine,
I was so messed up but I said I was fine.
It takes two to tango but one to leave it behind,
Happiness, they say, is a state of mind.
I cried a lot, then wiped tears with a smile,
I complained, I cursed, but only for a while.
To all my sorrows, I always leave you behind,
Because I know, happiness is a state of mind.
I faced a storm, what can wind do to me?
I worked my way up, from nobody to somebody.
I collect happy moments like I am a child,
I learnt through misery, happiness is a state of mind.
There are always many slips between cup and my lips,
I care less for 'things', more for my relationships.
It's not that complex, it's not a struggle to find,
Happiness, for sure, is a state of mind.
You pick a card, toss it or keep,
It's up to you, which side you want to heap.
No one will build it for you, it's not even destined,
Work a little, happiness is just a state of mind.
Saru you have captured the gist of life in so few words so beautifully rhymed! A lovely way to begin a new day!
