Black Tuesday
Untie that knot
Set him free
Those feet were never at rest
Since he was three
Many unpalatable truths
Smeared on his blood-soaked shirt
A corpse does speak
Without uttering even a single word
Jostle my soul harder
I'm unhinged by this fall
I am looking at his naked feet
Cover them with a warm shawl
He may not feel cold
But a mother can't bear this sight
Those people didn't kill one
The whole family died
Only a handful celebrate
On what humanity mourns
Goodness shall prevail
It never withers with such storms
But do tell his mother
Every heart is bleeding with pain
Many beliefs are uprooted
In today's hurricane
Do...
Untie that knot, set him free
Those feet were never at rest, since he was three
He won't run now, his stride has been cut short
Let him pace towards heaven, he has already suffered a lot
Set him free
Those feet were never at rest
Since he was three
Smeared on his blood-soaked shirt
A corpse does speak
Without uttering even a single word
I'm unhinged by this fall
I am looking at his naked feet
Cover them with a warm shawl
But a mother can't bear this sight
Those people didn't kill one
The whole family died
On what humanity mourns
Goodness shall prevail
It never withers with such storms
Every heart is bleeding with pain
Many beliefs are uprooted
In today's hurricane
Those feet were never at rest, since he was three
He won't run now, his stride has been cut short
Let him pace towards heaven, he has already suffered a lot
..humanity failed today..mankind fell to its lowest ebb..hundreds of innocent lives cut short by lunatics..
ReplyDelete..i can feel your pain Saru..may their souls rest in peace.. :(
May they rest in peace and let there be peace.
DeleteIt was brutal, insane, unforgivable and extremely coward act. May god give courage and strength to all who have lost their loved ones.....:(
ReplyDeleteTrue, it's a cowardly act.
DeleteCowards...
ReplyDeleteIt was a heart wrenching piece. Sometimes I wonder how can anyone hit someone without mercy. Where have we reached with these? Where did we lose our humanity? When we forgot our mother's love? Pathetic !
ReplyDeleteI ask the same question. Pathetic, it is.
Deletepoignant
ReplyDelete:(
Deleteheartless people!
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteSaru, it is a tough day today. I can not comprehend what happened. I am just so scared and so much in pain as a parent. It was difficult sending the kids off to school today. Such a heartless world that snuffs out lives of innocent kids. :/
ReplyDeleteWe all are. :(
Deleteit is your best not for the writing but for the pain it carries, a heart wrenching piece
ReplyDeleteBut do tell his mother
ReplyDeleteEvery heart is bleeding with pain
Many beliefs are uprooted
In today's hurricane
I can call those damn "heartless and meaningless" only.
They are heartless :(
DeleteThe shame associated with killing so many innocent children is unforgiveable! Senseless, brutal and cowardly act that makes few humans once again act worse than animals!
ReplyDeleteVery true, Sir.
DeleteOh! Touching words for the shameful incident...
ReplyDeleteWhole families have really died, Saru...
Indeed a shameful incident :(
DeleteYour words today have shown the kind of pain that those parents and near and dear ones must be going through in Peshawar, in the options above, I clicked soulful, the actual option should have been soul wrenching. This is such a brutal act and for once Pakistan should step up and stop being a coward.
ReplyDeleteIt was a dark day and a heart wrenching incident for all of us.
DeleteI couldn't sleep last night- Can't even begin to imagine what the families would be going through. No religion preaches killing of innocent souls - God is going to disown these people who didn't think twice before torturing kids.
ReplyDeleteNo religion, no country, no sane individual supports such a barbaric act.
DeleteYesterday's was a completely mind-numbing tragedy. Cannot even begin to imagine what each parent must be going through :(. Total pain and despair all around.
ReplyDeleteA dark day to say the least.
DeleteAs a parent I can understand the unfathomable agony of those who lost their children. Insane, monstrous killing...
ReplyDelete:(
DeleteShameful, inhuman, act of cowardice.
ReplyDeleteTrue, very true!
DeleteBeautifully written
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGave me goosepimples, I identified with it so much. Thank for writing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading and welcome here.
DeleteToo deep for words. Thanks for penning the tragedy in soulful lines!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteTouching words Saru. Such cruel incidents bring shame on the entire human race. Fanatics who spread hatred instead of love are the bane of mankind.
ReplyDeleteTrue, very true.
DeleteThat was painful news that is going to haunt us for days.
ReplyDeleteVery nicely written, Saru. They were put to rest way too soon. And right --'families' have been killed; that too brutally.
Hope there will be peace in 2015, Dee!
DeleteVery well said Saru. The pain and anguish is shared by one and all.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Deleteदिल को छूते हुए शब्द ...

DeleteHeart rending incident. Penned suitably well.

DeleteHorrifying act, how men can stoop so low to justify anything at all. Your words were piercing Saru.
ReplyDeleteI wonder the same, Jyoti.
DeleteVery sad day for humanity. Of all the people, kids? Terrorism is bad, but why even think of targeting kids.. 16th Dec will be remembered by Indians (Nirbhaya) and Pakistanis (Peshawar school) alike as we were victims on that day..
ReplyDeleteIt's a dark day for so many people. Wonder when things will improve.
DeleteIndeed a black Tuesday. Your words are powerful Saru.
ReplyDeleteThanks Pooja!
DeleteBeautifully written Saru! This is indeed a sad day in the history of humanity.. :(
ReplyDeleteGenocide of today's world...and those painful images will haunt us forever..
ReplyDeleteI agree...

DeletePowerfully moving. So sad.
ReplyDeleteVery sad!
DeleteSo touching, Saru. It is sad that humans can do this to humans.
ReplyDeleteI wonder the same. :(
