This post won #SoftestForBabySkin contest on BlogAdda, sponsored by Pampers. Have you ever held a newborn? Aren’t they an overload of cuteness! Their tiny little hands, wandering eyes and super supple skin - every bit is precious. New to the world, they need extra care, and mommies go an extra mile to make sure that their little darlings are safe and healthy. Though I was little when my baby brother was born, still I understood that there were a lot of preparations at home. Baby care products, extra care for hygiene and a special routine for him. Here are five tips which even my extended family use to take baby skin and keep their skin safe - Babies sleep like angels after bath. And, the reason is simple - pre-bath massage, warm bath and light post-bath massage. It has an amazing effect on their bodies. This routine keeps them clean, helps in growth, increase bone strength and keep their skin supple. On one hand pre-bath massage is done with baby oils and natural herbs. Post

Smartphone Wali Smart Family

Image
Once upon a time there was a landline. Yes, that rectangular box with wires and numbers embedded in it. Some ten years back, it was mercilessly replaced by mobile phones. From the very beginning, I knew ‘Mobile Phones’ are here to stay - they are very adaptive by nature, and change with time. And it happened! A few years back, mobile phone donned an uber cool avatar and became a SMARTPHONE! Smartphone is the ‘ baap of all phones.’ It’s fast, easy to operate, hip and happening. It has magical powers - it has turned everyone into a photographer and a Gyaani Baba, courtesy Google. Heck no, this is not the reason I love Smartphones. My reason is entirely personal, because of Smartphones - Meri seedhi-saadi Sharma family smart ho gayi hai aur Singhal parivar ke to kya kahne!   Don’t believe me...read my family’s makeover - Mom-Dad - OctaCore Jodi Before smartphone’s arrival, my parents were a normal couple. Then And Now...

I am a bit different. Unlike others I enjoy commercial breaks. No, I don’t run an errand during the break. I actually look forward to those TVCs that pack a lot of substance and make you ponder. Like this commercial by Birla SunLife Mutual Fund - One one hand it is funny and on the other, you thank all the good changes that have happened over the years. No more wait to connect for a long distance trunk call, no burden to remember those important dates and no more waiting in long queues to deposit utility bills. Life has become easier. There were times I had a diary in which I wrote all birthdays, anniversaries and other important dates. And, I had another diary for addresses and telephone numbers. As a middle school girl, it was quite a task to update both the diaries and keep them in one place one. One day my thoughtful father gave me a big one where I could store all the information. Those old world things, I tell ya . They sound so dated. Well, there is surely a ch

To You, Aunty

Image
I’ve met a great number of inspiring people in my life - successful businessman, sports stars, models, writers and actors. All of them were extremely humble, generous and confident. However, there is one person who has left an indelible impression on me. She is the most soft spoken, poised, intelligent and wise human being I know. She is my mother-in-law’s friend - Harjit Kaur. When I met her and had a one-to-one conversation, she told me about her husband who was paralyzed while dealing with chemicals in the laboratory. She took him to Delhi and stayed there for six months constantly working on his well being. I know, every wife does this, but her resolute and courage is mixed with a wave of positivity. No , she doesn’t portray it. She is positive from within. Words like pity and misery take a backseat in her dictionary. She redefines grace. From her, I’ve learned not only to face problems with courage, but also to embrace everything with a smile. A rare quality which is o

I love Diwali. Every aspect of this festival is beautiful and I try to live every moment of it. I clean, decorate and pamper my home. Sure, after all the preparations I am dead tired, but a look at my hard work is an instant remedy. Have a look and wishing you a very Happy Diwali. May you all be blessed with health, happiness and wealth. Ganpati, Green and Loads of Gorgeousness on my Desk! This is how we pamper our guests - with a bundled ten rupee note and dry fruits When the stars came down Hand painted diyas, not by my hands though... Kyonki hum bade filmy hain...

#FindingHappiness

Just like I find happiness in writing these hashtag stories… A few months back when I was going through a tough time, I started a 100 Day Challenge on Instagram. I started penning down all the feelings in the form of a quote. Halfway through the journey, I discovered an amazing thing - ‪#‎TheHashtagStory‬ . I simply love writing them and I am grateful, there are many who enjoy it. Today is the last day. And, I am happy that as always - writing brought joy and solace to my joy. Thanks everyone for being a part of this experience. And, cheers to the magic of words! For more  hashtag stories, stalk me on - Facebook , Twitter and Instagram
